Dear Friends,
Just a quick note. We've got a very special night of music coming up on Wednesday, Dec. 17th, at The Aster Cafe. We'll be celebrating the holidays at one our favorite places to play! It's gonna be a super fun night of music, because we'll be sharing the stage with our special guest Bobbi Miller! Bobbi has meant the world to me and our band, and we hope you can share the night with us, as we send her off to the warmth of Arizona.
We'll be playing two sets, starting at 9pm! More info here. Reservations are encouraged, to make sure you get a good seat! Call the Aster at 612-379-3138.

I hope your summer went well, and fall is off to a good start! We've got a bunch of shows coming up in October and November, that I wanted to make sure you knew about. We'd love to see you at a show!
First of all, we are so happy to playing music with a couple of new band members: Pat Wheeler (guitar) and Dan Carlsen (bass)! They are great guys and great musicians! And I hope you'll get to meet them soon!
So, we've got 3 shows coming up in October:
Thursday, October 2nd at Lee's Liquor Lounge in Minneapolis. We love Lee's! We'll be playing at 9pm, opening up for the awesome Church of Cash (Johnny Cash tribute band)! $5 cover.
Friday, October 17th at Wild Tymes in St. Paul! We're super excited for this show! We've got a great bill line-up, with music starting at 8pm with singer/songwriter Derek Lynch. Our good friend Stacy Lee and her band will be playing at 9pm. And we'll be playing at 10:15pm or so. This is a free show!
Friday, October 31st at The Tavern in Northfield, MN. This is what I'm calling our "Roll & Tumble Halloween Bash!" The Tavern is an intimate venue, so we're gonna strip it down, get out the acoustic guitars, and let it fly! We're sharing the evening's bill with our good friends, the awesome and dynamic band, Swallows! Swallows at 8pm, and we'll play at 10pm. This is a free show, as well!

The Mad Ripple Hootenanny was started in November, 2006 by writer/host/singer/organizer/songwriter Jim Walsh as a way of bringing songwriters together for a one-night only round-robin of original songs and stories. Over the years, many notables have taken part in the Hoot (Billy Bragg, Dan Wilson, Elvis Perkins, Curtiss A, Ike Reilly, Ben Kyle) and been joined newbies and up-and-coming locals at Java Jack’s, the Beat Coffeeshop, the Guthrie, Banjo Jim’s in New York, Kings Wine Bar, the Aster, and others.

As we've come to expect, we know when a good storm is comin'! Old Man Winter decided to show up at about 4pm, so we invited in him to party with us! Then we kicked his ass!
We had a real good time last night, sharing the stage with the wonderful Andra Suchy! If you have a chance, you've got to see Andra! Check out her upcoming shows here! Our special thanks to the Aster Café for having us back!
We've got an early evening show lined up for Saturday, April 12th at the Harriet Tap Room. It's gonna be a great night of music, with our good friends Mad Margaret at 6:30pm, The Nasty Notes at 7:30pm, and the awesome Swallows at 9pm. It's a free Saturday, and we'd love to see you out for a fun time!
And don't forget, we have our CD Release Show coming up, in just a couple of days, on Thursday, April 3rd, at Lee's Liquor Lounge. Doors 8:30pm, Music 9:30pm. We're honored and super excited to be sharing the stage with Church of Cash!

Great news! We've rescheduled our CD Release Show, for Thursday, April 3rd, at Lee's Liquor Lounge. Doors at 8:30pm, music at 9:30pm. We're honored to be on the bill with the wonderful Church of Cash, who'll be playing at 10:45pm.
We also have a couple of gigs coming up in the next few weeks. Curt Hutchens, Bobbi Miller and myself will be playing on Saturday, March 15th, at the Driftwood Char Bar, on an excellent bill featuring James Loney & Lolo's Ghost, and the Jason Dixon Line! Music starts at 9pm. More info here.

We had to cancel our CD Release Show last week, due to the 'storm of the winter' here in the Twin Cities. And it was a doozy! We hope everyone made it through the weekend safe and sound! We are working very hard to reschedule our CD Release party, and we'll let you know when we do! We'd love to see you there!
